Two men are in hospital after an incident at a Barrie plaza where one was stabbed and the other was struck by a vehicle.
This morning around 2:00 a.m., city police say they received initial information that a person "had been struck and possibly run over by a motor vehicle," at a Cundles Road East and Sperling Drive plaza.
"Upon arrival at the scene, police learned that two males, who had been outside of a business in the plaza, were involved in an isolated, but violent interaction with a group of males that attempted to steal a Jeep that was parked in the parking lot," Peter Leon, communications coordinator with the Barrie Police Service, wrote in a release.
"A male came from inside of the business to help and he was struck by a car, while one of the initially involved males was stabbed."

Leon says the injured men were sent to hospital, with one later transported to a trauma centre in Toronto for multiple stab wounds.
"This investigation is currently in the early stages and is being investigated by detectives from the Barrie Police Criminal Investigation Division who are being assisted by the Service’s Forensic Identification Unit," Leon said.
He added that more details will be provided only as the investigation permits.
