Four people have been arrested and a total of 40 charges laid in what Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say was an investigation that started in June into a group of drug traffickers who were operating throughout Simcoe County.
The investigation was launched by Orillia OPP with assistance from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Vancouver Police.
On Wednesday, several search warrants were executed in Simcoe County, and according to police, resulted in the seizure of drugs such as fentanyl, cocaine and heroin, as well as several prohibited knives, a handgun, $12,000 in cash, cellphones, a stolen police bullet proof vest, and a swastika and Nazi paraphernalia.
Weapons, drug and other charges have been laid against a 30-year-old from Barrie, two British Columbia residents, 33 and 31, as well as a 31-year-old of no fixed address.
