Officers with the South Simcoe Police Service say an e-bike rider was airlifted to a Toronto hospital following a crash in Innisfil.

On Friday, August 30, around 4:30 p.m. police responded to a report of a collision on Innisfil Beach Road east of 20th Sideroad.

"Upon arrival, it was determined that a single e-bike was involved and the driver was unconscious," officers wrote in a release on Wednesday.

"The driver was taken to [a] local hospital ... and was later transported to a Toronto hospital by AirOrnge. The driver is now stable and is expected to make a full recovery."

Police are appealing to any witnesses in the area at the time.
