Occupants of a home on Lillian Crescent in Barrie were able to safely get out of the residence as a fire erupted in the garage.
A Barrie Fire spokesperson said crews were called to the home around 5:30 Thursday afternoon.
The spokesperson added there was smoke damage to the inside of the residence.
The fire has since been extinguished.
There is no damage total.
The fire official told Barrie 360 the scene will be held overnight and investigators will be at the home Friday to try and determine what sparked the blaze.
