Fatal collision involving motorcycle and SUV in Muskoka

OPP say they are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and SUV in Muskoka on Friday afternoon.

Huntsville OPP and emergency crews responded to the two-vehicle crash on Aspdin Road near Gross Road at 3:30 p.m.

"The motorcycle was travelling westbound on Aspdin Road when it collided with an eastbound vehicle," OPP said in a media release.

"The driver of the motorcycle, a 72-year-old man from Wakefield Quebec, was transported to West Parry Sound Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries."

Police say the driver and a passenger of the SUV were transported to the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Aspdin Road was closed for several hours.

"The investigation into the factors that led up to the collision is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to call Huntsville OPP at 1-888-310-1122," police added.
