An official says there were no injuries and there is no cause at this time regarding a barn fire in Oro-Medonte.

Roree Payment, Oro-Medonte Fire & Emergency Services Deputy Fire Chief, told Barrie 360 they were called to Line 8 just north of 15/16 Sideroad around 6 p.m. on Saturday.

"Crews from all stations were involved in the incident and a tanker truck from Severn Township was also used to supply water to the scene," Payment wrote in an email.

He says roughly 30 firefighters and 10 apparatus were on scene and had the blaze under control within two hours.

Payment says they kept the fire contained to the barn.

"There were no injuries or animals in the barn," Payment wrote. "The barn was a total loss and the fire is not considered suspicious."

He added that crews stayed overnight, and as of now, there is no cause.
