Barrie police say a loader was stolen from a residential job site in the southeast part of the city Friday morning.

Around 7 a.m., officers responded to a report of a theft of a white 2021 MT100 Bobcat Minitrack Loader from in front of a home located on Monarchy Crescent. The loader was equipped with a large bucket on the front that had “HR” painted on it.

"Police were able to determine, from video surveillance in the area, that the theft occurred between 4:35 a.m. and 5:02 a.m. and that a black sport utility vehicle towing a double axle flatbed trailer was involved," according to a police news release.

Police are reminding business owners, who use any type of equipment in home or industrial construction projects to always ensure that any equipment being left overnight is secured in a manner so that it cannot be stolen.
