News release from Barrie Police Service
On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 2:07 a.m., Barrie Police responded to a report of an alarm at a business located in a plaza on the southeast corner of Mapleview Drive West and Lougheed Road. Upon arrival, police located a badly damaged glass door and determined, with the assistance of the business owner, that the persons responsible had fled the scene just minutes before.
Further investigation, and also aided by video from surveillance cameras in the area, police learned that two male suspects arrived at the plaza at 2:03 a.m. and proceeded to force entry into the business where they selectively stole boxes, booster packs and single collectible cards. The suspects were in and out of the business very quickly and left in the same vehicle that they arrived in, a white cargo style van that had a spray-painted design on the rear right (passenger side) corner. Unfortunately, no licence plate was obtained.
The suspects responsible are described as:
Suspect #1: Male, possibly Asian, with dark hair pulled back in a bun, 20-30 years old, thin build, jeans, black shoes with green bottoms and white laces, blue gloves, dark jacket and a blue mask.
Suspect #2: Male white, approximately 20-25 years old, thin build, black gloves, black shoes with white soles, black pants, distinct camo hoodie with words "RAPTORS" around the opening of hood and down sleeves written in white letters and a blue surgical mask.
