Highway 400 'chain reaction' crash in Bradford, driver charged with impaired

Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges after a "chain reaction" collision involving eight vehicles on Highway 400 southbound in Bradford.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, police received a report that a vehicle had been involved in a collision with another vehicle south of Highway 88 and had come to a stop in a live lane without lights on.

Other vehicles then piled into the wreck. One person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Several Highway Traffic Act and Cannabis Control Act offences

The accused was released from custody and is to appear in court next month.
