Officials with the Barrie Police Service say officers have made an arrest in connection to a child-porn investigation.

They say the probe began two months ago and that the accused "used a social media gaming network (Discord) to upload child pornography," police said in a release.

The Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at the accused's residence and say they seized computer devices possessing child pornography.

A 31-year-old Barrie man was arrested on Friday and held for a bail hearing.

He is facing charges of:

  • Accessing Child Pornography
  • Possession of Child Pornography
