Reflecting on the strong representation, Rob Emerson, President of the Barrie Women’s Hockey Association, said, “This is the strongest participation we’ve ever had at the U18 National Championships, with six players selected to participate this year. We’re thrilled for Sonia and Amelia to get the win, and excited for all of these players to have the chance to shine at the national level.”

Barrie Jr. Sharks Coach Duane Eldridge praised the dedication of the players, saying, “The opportunity to play in the national championships is a testament to the hard work these players have put in this season and over many years. Amelia, Avah, Ella, Kate, Mae, and Sonia are all incredibly hard workers and fantastic representatives of the strong female hockey talent we have in Barrie.”
