Vandals will get a lump of coal in their stockings after they vandalize Ebenezer Scrooge's grave.

In the English countryside is the small town of Shrewsbury, which has marked the grave of the fictional character, Scrooge.

The movie prop was used in the 1984 adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" and was kept in place, eventually becoming a huge tourist attraction.

Unfortunately, vandals busted the gravestone into multiple pieces.

One resident told the Associated Press, "There's not much to see other than broken bits of the gravestone. You can't see that it says Ebenezer Scrooge because it's so damaged. It's hugely disrespectful."

Townspeople are fuming at the act, saying, "If the ghosts of past, present, and future would like to visit in the middle of the night and drop them and break them in pieces; I think that would be a perfect punishment."
