Like hair and make-up, 1990s Christmas decor was big and extra.

Thanks to nostalgia at an all-time high, big, bold colours and oversized decorations are making a comeback.

Think colourful lights, red and green tree bulbs, string popcorn and lots of tinsel.

So much tinsel.

For the better part of the 2000s, understated decor like beige and grey accessories were the standard, but like all fashion, tastes repeat themselves.

The New York Post says it's not just older millennials embracing the kitschy decor, but 20-something Zoomers are all for it too.

However, the overstimulation of so many lights is too much for some teenagers.

One woman posted her teenage daughter's reaction to her living room decor, and she didn't seem impressed, saying, "This is so extra."

@haywardlegends Kids these days will never understand the feeling we had when we walked in after school to a room full of tinsel & streamers #haywardlegends #1990s #nostalgia #90snostalgia #nostalic #christmas #1990sthrowback #1990snostalgia ♬ The Polar Express - Main Theme by Alan Silvestri - Dominik Hauser

She also seemed a bit scared of the insane amount of tinsel thrown on the tree in no particular way.

Although she tries to maintain her "unimpressed teen face," you can tell she low-key loves it.

While many are in awe of the 90's decor coming back, many quickly say they never stopped doing Christmas this way.

@esally5 My Husband wanted a Christmas tree that reminded him of his childhood. So I decorated our tree with a 90s theme. Had to add our ornament from Alaska🎄😘 #christmastree #tree #christmasdecor #Christmas #christmaslights #northpole #santashouse #alaska #ornaments #90s #nostalgia #nostalgic #multicoloredlights #tinsel ♬ original sound - Erica Sally
