Firearm and drug charges after warrant in Stayner

Police say they seized a loaded handgun, body armour and other items

Three people face charges after provincial police executed a search warrant on Wednesday at an address in Stayner.

As a result of the warrant, police say they seized a loaded handgun, 46 rounds of ammunition, body armour, and a variety of drugs including fentanyl, powder cocaine, crack cocaine, and hydromorphone tablets.

A 28-year-old man from Scarborough has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Loaded and Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Prohibited device or ammunition for Dangerous Purpose
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited restricted firearm
  • Careless storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • Careless storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • Careless storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice today, October 27, 2022, in the City of Barrie.

A 40-year-old Clearview Township woman has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - Opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Loaded and Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Possession of a Prohibited device or ammunition for Dangerous Purpose
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited restricted firearm
  • Careless storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • Careless storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
  • Careless storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice today, October 27, 2022, in the City of Barrie.

A 40-year-old Stayner man has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance - Cocaine 

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on December 6, 2022, in the Town of Collingwood.
