Weekend two-vehicle crash, charges laid on Tay Township driver

Both drivers suffered only minor injuries

Southern Georgian Bay OPP attended to a two-vehicle crash over the weekend - a Tay Township driver faces charges.

OPP say a community member notified police, who were dispatched around 8:17 p.m. on Friday, October 28, to the scene on Concession Road 6 East in Tiny Township.

Officers say they found a demolished Ford F-150 which was rolled over in the ditch, and a destroyed white Hyundai sedan on the roadway with extensive damage to the front end.

According to police, the driver of the Hyundai was spoken to by an investigating officer who then entered into an impaired driving investigation.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was released from police on a recognizance to appear in court on November 10, as well, faces a 90-day driver's licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.

Both drivers were treated at a hospital for minor injuries and then released.
