York Regional Police are looking for a suspect after they say a dog was left abandoned in Georgina.

The service was called on Sunday at 8:15 a.m. to a dog park in the Lake Drive South and Robert Street area.

"Police located what appeared to be a Cane Corso tied to a pole," officers wrote in a release.

"The dog did not appear to be in distress and had no visible injuries. The dog was taken into the care of the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption to receive the necessary care and attention."

They added that the dog is "not yet ready for adoption."

Video from the area shows a black pickup truck arriving at the dog park. A suspect is seen walking the dog to an area and tying it to a pole. The suspect then returns to the truck and is last seen travelling southbound on Lake Drive South.
