The highly anticipated Colt for a Day event returns February 23rd, 2025, giving young athletes the unforgettable opportunity to experience life as an OHL player while supporting a great cause.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, this annual event continues to make a lasting impact, with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie & District, an organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering local youth.
Hosted at Sadlon Arena, Colt for a Day provides participants with the chance to skate alongside Barrie Colts players, receive expert coaching, and enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to be part of a top-tier hockey program. Created by the Kempenfelt Rotary Club of Barrie, the event has grown into a community tradition that fosters both hockey development and charitable giving.
“This event is a testament to the power of sport and mentorship,” said Rob Wilcox, representative of the Kempenfelt Rotary Club of Barrie. “For 20 years, Colt for a Day has not only given young athletes a once-in-a-lifetime experience but has also helped raise critical funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters, strengthening our community one match at a time.”
