A 43-year-old man from Tottenham is facing numerous charges after Nottawasaga OPP received assistance from military police in arresting a suspected impaired driver.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday, provincial police responded to a call to assist an officer on patrol in Angus who attempted to stop a vehicle that registered a "hit" for being a suspended driver. Police say the vehicle did not stop for the officer and entered Canadian Forces Base Borden.

The man has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Driving while under suspension - Two Counts
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor- Two Counts

The accused was charged recently with two previous counts of impaired operation offences and as a result was held for a bail hearing.
