Barrie police don't anticipate charges after the bucket of a dump truck became entangled in what was called in as hydro wires.
Police communications coordinator Peter Leon told Barrie 360 they were alerted just before 8:30 Thursday night for a "dangerous condition." Leon said police were told that a dump truck had been leaving an address on Welham Road and the bucket came in contact with overhead wires.
"Fortunately, the driver was able to get stopped and notified police right away," said Leon. "Not knowing what wires were involved, the driver remained in the vehicle until authorities could get there.
Officials determined the bucket got hooked on a cable line and not power lines that provide hydro to the area.
Leon said the bucket was left in a neutral position and did not go down after the driver had unloaded what was in it.
