
While people slept, a male suspect kept himself busy in the Kilworthy area of Gravenhurst allegedly breaking into vehicles and garages and stealing items.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say the thefts happened overnight on March 5 and involved cash, identification and credit cards.
With the assistance of surveillance video, police say the suspect used a stolen credit card at a nearby restaurant.
A search warrant was executed in Barrie where a man was taken into custody and property belonging to the victims was recovered.
The suspect, who is from Gravenhurst, was charged with the following:
- Operation while prohibited
- Trespassing at night
- Theft of a credit card
- Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime
- Theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle
- Break and enter dwelling/house
- Theft under $5,000
- Mischief
- Fraud under $5,000
The accused has a court appearance on Friday.
