Huntsville OPP charged a 16-year-old male with assault after they say he allegedly attacked another youth unprovoked.

Officers responded to a King William Street McDonald's restaurant on February 24 around 11:40 a.m.

"The investigation recently concluded and revealed the accused, a male youth, had attacked another youth without provocation with a group of other youth watching and supporting the accused," OPP stated today, and said the victim sustained injuries but did not require medical treatment.

"The accused was released to the care of a parent and is to follow conditions to not communicate with the victim in any way."

He has a court date in Bracebridge in May.

"The name of the accused is not released as per the restrictions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to respect the privacy of the victim," OPP added.
