A 54-year-old Coldwater man has been charged with impaired driving after provincial police said he failed a roadside test.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE spot check around 5:30 p.m. Thursday on Bass Lake Side Road at Line 6 in Oro-Medonte when the man's vehicle entered. They allege the motorist registered a fail on the approved screening device.

Police posted a photo to Facebook of the car pulled over to the side of the road with several bottles and cans of alcohol on the roof.

As a result of the charge, the man's vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.
