Officers with the Barrie police bike patrol arrested two people and seized drugs after being alerted by a citizen regarding individuals who were loitering at the back of a Collier Street business downtown.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police located a 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman and discovered they were both wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.

Police said the suspects were taken into custody, and both were found to have fentanyl.

The man was also found to be in possession of cocaine, and the woman to be in possession of suspected heroin, according to police.

Both were transported to police headquarters where the investigation continued.

As a result of additional information received, the woman was found to be breaching a court order.

She was charged with a pair of drug offences and failing to comply with a release order, and the woman was held for a bail hearing.

The man was charged with drug possession offences and released on an undertaking. He is to appear in court later this month.
