
Two Tay Township residents face numerous charges due to an ongoing police investigation.
Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant early Friday at a Forest Harbour Parkway residence in Tay Township.
Police say they seized what is believed to be cocaine, purple fentanyl, various prescription medications thought to be oxycodone and clonazepam, as well as a semi-automatic handgun with a fully loaded magazine, a quantity of ammunition, a taser, and an expandable baton.
OPP also seized cash, cellphones, and other related drug paraphernalia.
A 42-year-old man has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
- Possession of a schedule I substance - Opioid (other than heroin)
A 34-year-old female was charged with the following:
- Knowledge of an unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearmrime Under $5,000 - in Canada
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
She was released with a future court date.
