
Orillia Fire Chief Chris Ferry says two occupants of a George Street home were alerted about a fire in the residence by working smoke alarms.
Crews responded to the home around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Ferry says when firefighters got there, the house was fully engulfed and flames had already extended into the roof.

The occupants got out safely, but two pets are unaccounted for.
One vehicle in the driveway was burned, and a second vehicle had painted burned off it, according to Ferry.
A neighbouring home suffered heat damage.
The fire is not considered suspicious.
The cause has not been determined.
