An impaired driver was charged in Midland following an anonymous report by a member of the community to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Southern Georgian Bay OPP received word of a possible impaired driver on Angela Schmidt Foster Rd. in Midland, leading to an investigation of a Midland resident.

Just after 3 p.m. Tuesday, an officer was sent to investigate and located the suspected vehicle in a retail parking lot on Simcoe County Rd. 93 in Midland.

The officer spoke with the driver, and eventually arrested the 62-year-old man on two impaired driving charges.

He was released from custody and is set to appear in court later this month.

The vehicle involved was towed and will be impounded for seven days.
