Two men face charges after a theft incident in Midland where police say a knife was swung at a victim.

On Sunday, OPP say a King Street apartment resident checked on some "commotion" going on outside his door. Police say the victim saw two males stealing items, including clothing and footwear, from the hallway. Once spotted, the suspects ran from the scene.

OPP say the victim followed and caught up with one of the suspects on Bourgeois Lane - the suspect then waved a knife in his direction and told him to leave.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP were contacted and investigated the incident.

A 33-year-old from Christian Island and a 35-year-old from Midland face the following charges:

  • Robbery with theft
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Failure to comply and attend court (2)

The two were held for a bail hearing.
