Youth seriously injured in scooter-vehicle collision in Barrie

A 14-year-old boy remains in a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries after the scooter he was on was struck by a vehicle in Barrie on Friday night.

Police say it happened just before 10:30 on an unlit portion of County Road 27 south of Dunlop Street West.

The boy was with friends when the collision happened.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative.
