
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have located a vehicle they say was involved in a hit-and-run east of Cookstown that claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman from Richmond Hill.
Police say the woman's body was found along the shoulder of Highway 89, near the 5th Sideroad in the area of Highway 400.
Investigators believe she was walking along the highway just after 2 a.m. Sunday, when she was struck by an eastbound blue passenger vehicle.
The vehicle did not remain at the scene but has since been located, according to police. They are still looking for the driver.
