A man reportedly observed to have been loading a firearm in Barrie was arrested Monday night by Barrie Police.

Officers received a 'very detailed' of the 22-year-old man who was seen loading the weapon near Harvie Road and Bryne Drive.

He was located and identified in the area and arrested without incident before an investigation commenced.

At least six police cruisers were seen parked by a wooded area while officers conducted their search, which was assisted by the canine unit.

Officers could be seen brandishing rifles as they thoroughly searched the area, but no firearm was found in relation to the report.

The male who had been arrested was eventually released unconditionally.
