Southern Georgian Bay OPP checked a vessel Saturday on Six Mile Lake, which led to an 18-year-old operator having his licence suspended.

At 2:50 p.m., officers from the marine unit were checking vessels for proper safety equipment and impaired operators in the area of Lost Channel.

Eventually, they came across a beige-blue coloured Sea Doo jet ski and entered an impaired driving investigation.

The driver, an 18-year-old man from Whitchurch-Stouffville, registered a "fail" result on the roadside screening device.

He was transported to detachment for further breath tests, and later issued a three-day driver's licence suspension and provincial offences tickets for Canada Shipping Act violations.
