OPP break window to shut off vehicle, charge Barrie man with impaired

Huron County OPP say officers had to break the window of a car that was still running and in gear when it was found stopped in a live lane of traffic on a street in Clinton.

Police say the driver was found unresponsive behind the wheel when they got to the scene.

Officers had to break the window to get the car into park before arresting the driver, a 33-year-old man from Barrie.

The alleged incident occurred on July 14, but details were only released on Wednesday.

The man's vehicle was impounded for a week, and his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused has a court date in Goderich.
