Nottawasaga OPP seized a selection of hard drugs and arrested two for trafficking after stopping their vehicle Sunday in Essa.

Just after 11 p.m., patrolling officers saw a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Scotch Pine Road at Brentwood Road and conducted a traffic stop. During the interaction, police suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol and made an arrest.

However, upon further investigation, officers found and confiscated 88.3 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and 7.6 grams of cocaine on the passenger, who was also arrested.

The driver, a 36-year-old man from Milton, was dealt four charges: two for impaired driving, one for drug trafficking, and the other for possession.

Trafficking was among the charges for the passenger, a 42-year-old woman from Barrie, who was also handed two charges relating to identity fraud.

Both will appear in court in Bradford in October.
