Holy Trinity (1-0-0) jumped out to an early lead and kept adding on to open its CSASC senior boys' soccer season with a 7-3 road win over St. Joan of Arc (0-0-1) Thursday at Pierzchala Field.
Three Tigers scored a brace, including Ledu, who had his within three minutes in the second half of the 70-minute match.
The defending GBSSA AA champions have now won four straight league matches dating back to October 2024, with the previous three being shutouts. They have not lost in CSASC or GBSSA play since before the 2021 season.
After winning the OFSSA AA championship in 2023 and falling short of it in 2024, Holy Trinity reclassified into the AAA table for this season.

CSASC SENIOR BOYS' SOCCER
St. Joan of Arc (Barrie) | Cervo ⚽ 17' Cnstante ⚽ 22' Park⚽ 34' | 3-7 | Recalde ⚽ 9', 33' Intriago ⚽ 10', 30' Oladejo⚽ 24' (pen.) Ledu⚽ 41', 44' (pen.) | Holy Trinity (Bradford) |
The Tigers dominated possession the first half, opening the scoring with two goals within a minute. Recalde's first came off a clearing attempt by Knights goalkeeper Matthew Clase. The strike came from roughly 35 yards out as Clase was recovering from his boot on the right side of the pitch.
Intriago's first goal a minute later came off a direct rebound on a save , who made four saves on 11 shots on target by Holy Trinity.
However, the home side managed to tie it after two goals, the second of which by Josh Cnstante came off a rebound from a strike that hit the far goalpost.
But two minutes later, the Tigers were awarded a penalty kick when Oladejo was brought down in the box. He converted from the spot to give his team a lead it wouldn't relinquish.
It was then that the Knights started showing their frustration. The team got booked on yellow cards three times throughout the match, and was very vocal on foul calls by the referee. Clase seemed to be the most frustrated, actively calling out teammates for misplays and turnovers.
However, JOA had multiple chances to get back in the game, but were called offsides on three great chances in the second half, including what could've been a breakaway.
Five of the Knights' eight shots on target were saved, with the best unconverted chance coming off the foot of Cnstante when he got the ball following a Tigers defensive giveaway.
