The City of Barrie is inviting residents to once again take a brief survey and share their feedback on the quality of the City’s drinking water. Resident feedback plays a key role in helping Water Operations assess customer satisfaction and identify areas for continued improvement. The survey was first conducted in 2023, and by asking the same questions in this follow up survey, the City will be able to monitor changes and measure progress over time.
Recently, the City’s Water Operations Branch achieved a perfect 100% score on the 2025-2026 Final Communal Drinking Water Inspection, an official review by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). This outstanding result reflects the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of staff who maintain Barrie’s drinking water system every day.
“Barrie’s drinking water meets all provincial safety standards. By gathering feedback from residents, we gain valuable insights into overall satisfaction and uncover opportunities to enhance our service,” said Diane Moreau, Manager of Water Operations. “Using the same survey questions from 2023 provides a meaningful benchmark for comparison over time”.
The City of Barrie delivers safe, reliable tap water through a comprehensive treatment and distribution system. Regular testing ensures compliance with Ontario’s Safe Drinking Water Act, regulated by the MECP. The City remains committed to delivering high-quality drinking water, every day.
The deadline to complete the survey is October 24.
