South Simcoe Police laid 155 charges during an enforcement campaign in August and September that was focused on vehicle identification offences.

The charges, say police, were related to obstructed, altered, or unauthorized licence plates, as well as failure to display a front licence plate where required.

"These offences can hinder the ability to identify vehicles involved in violations, making investigations and accountability more challenging," police said in a news release. "Addressing these issues is crucial in ensuring road safety and bringing offenders to justice."

Police urge drivers to inspect their vehicles for compliance with the Highway Traffic Act.
