Huronia West OPP have charged a 27-year-old Barrie man with impaired driving, alleging his blood alcohol level was over three times the legal limit.
On Sunday, around noon, police say an officer on patrol stopped a sedan travelling on County Road 27 and initiated an impaired driving investigation.
"During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and he was subsequently arrested," police stated in a news release.
Along with the impaired driving charge, the man was also charged with driving a vehicle with open liquor.
His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused has a court date in November.
