A successful end to a break and enter investigation by Barrie police.

Around 2:45 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of an alarm at a business in the Wellington Plaza.

When police arrived, they confirmed a break and enter and that two suspects wearing dark clothing had fled on foot.

"One male was immediately located and taken into custody just east of the store near an abandoned car wash," police said in a news release.

A perimeter was established in the area to allow for a canine track, and a second suspect was located and arrested a short distance away.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, from Scarborough and East York, have been charged with break and enter and disguise with intent.

Police say the stolen property was recovered.

They were later released with a court date on October 29.
