A lockdown at Innisdale Secondary School around noon on Tuesday was triggered by a robbery of a young person that occurred in a nearby wooded area, according to Barrie police.
In an update provided on Wednesday, police said officers attended to a report of a robbery in a wooded area south of Little Avenue and east of Bayview Drive.
"The investigation initially led police to a nearby secondary school that was placed in lockdown. A short time later, the lockdown was lifted after police located and arrested a number of students who were believed to have been involved," police said in a news release.
Four youths were taken to police headquarters where the investigation continued.
It was eventually determined that the youths were not involved in the robbery, and they were released with no charges laid.
The victim, who is a youth, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and further details will be provided only when they become available.
