Suspect sought in rash of thefts from vehicles in New Tecumseth

Nottawasaga OPP is searching for a suspect after multiple reports were received on October 6 about multiple overnight break-ins to vehicles at homes along the 11th Line in New Tecumseth.

Police say the items reported stolen include passports, citizenship cards, debit and credit cards, health cards, SIN cards, driver's licences, sunglasses, a purse, a Canada Post ID badge, and keys.

According to investigators, video surveillance from a nearby gas station captured a male suspect entering a store just before 7:30 that morning and buying $248 worth of prepaid gift cards using one of the stolen debit cards.

The suspect is described as having a medium build, dark skin, and he was wearing a red hat, sunglasses, a black T-shirt, black pants, and white Crocs.

A white four-door BMW 328 with a stolen Ontario licence plate (CTJH 677) was seen fleeing the area but has not yet been located by police.
