Ontario Provincial Police say a woman was killed after a northbound vehicle on Highway 400 left the road and slammed into a rock cut.
This happened around 11:30 on Wednesday morning near Crooked Bay Road in Georgian Bay Township.
When officers arrived at the scene, police say they found three females in a severely damaged vehicle.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, a 68-year-old from Sudbury was pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
Highway 400 northbound was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
