A serious collision on Friday morning in Ramara Township has prompted Orillia OPP to close a section of County Road 169 as they investigate.
Just before 7 a.m., officers responded to a head-on collision that involved a pickup truck and a transport truck on County Road 169 at Concession Road D-E.
The driver of the pickup truck required extrication and sustained life-threatening injuries. They were eventually airlifted to a trauma centre in Toronto.
County Road 169 remains closed between Concession Road D-E and Concession Road C-D while OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) attend the scene.
The OPP is asking motorists to avoid the area and follow posted detour routes while they continue their investigation. Additionally, they're asking any witnesses or anyone with footage of the collision to contact the Orillia detachment.
