Police say a 36-year-old man in Hamilton is facing charges after allegedly taking a city bus on a "joyride" with passengers on board.
They say a Hamilton Street Railway bus driver pulled into the McNab Terminal on Tuesday and exited the vehicle for a break when a man got on the bus and drove away.
Police say the suspect proceeded to drive up Hamilton Mountain and made several stops along the way to let passengers on and off the bus.
They say the man even denied someone looking to board with an expired bus pass.
Police say they followed the bus up the mountain and brought it to a stop on West 5th Street, where the suspect was taken into custody.
The say the man, who has no fixed address, has been charged with theft over $5,000, possession over $5,000, driving while prohibited and obstructing police.
