Highway 400 southbound was a traffic nightmare for commuters following a collision that involved a police vehicle on Tuesday morning.
For a period of time, traffic was only able to get by on the right shoulder.
The two-vehicle collision occurred near Highway 89, but the delays stretched back to Innisfil Beach Road.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said an officer was taken to the hospital for what police described as minor injuries.
The southbound lanes reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
