
Two Orillia residents have been charged in a fraud investigation by Huron County OPP involving a car dealership in Exeter.
Police say they were alerted by staff at the dealership on Oct. 30 after employees discovered discrepancies in the documents provided by a potential vehicle buyer.
Investigators say two people attended the dealership on Nov. 1 to finalize the purchase of a $70,000 vehicle and were arrested.
A 54-year-old woman was charged with fraud over $5,000. She was released from custody with a court date on Dec. 8.
A 59-year-old man was charged with fraud over $5,000, use, deals, acts on a forged document and identity fraud. He was also released from custody with a Dec. 8 court date.
