102 kilograms of cocaine seized, 2 Barrie residents among six people charged: YRP

A multi-jurisdictional police investigation has resulted in the arrest of six people, including two from Barrie, and the seizure of 102 kilograms of cocaine.

Police also seized over $135,000 and a loaded firearm.

In October 2025, York Regional Police say they began looking into suspected cocaine trafficking with the assistance of police services from the OPP, Barrie, South Simcoe, Toronto, Durham Regional and Correctional Service Canada.

Police said that between October and December, nine search warrants were executed at four residences and five storage facilities in Toronto, Vaughan, and Barrie, as well as in Innisfil and Espanola.

An additional search warrant was executed at the Beaver Creek Institution in Gravenhurst.

Two people, ages 35 and 36, from Barrie have been charged with the following:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm
  • Possession of prohibited devices
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000
  • Conspiracy to traffic cocaine (one suspect only)

Two people from Espanola, a Toronto resident, and an individual of no fixed address face drug-related charges.
