Barrie police are looking for a suspect after a stabbing in the city's east end.
Around nine Friday morning, officers responded to a report of a man being stabbed on Gunn Street, between Oak and St. Vincent Streets.
After learning the suspect fled on foot, police deployed a drone and utilized their canine unit, but in the end, determined the person was no longer in the area.
A 36-year-old Barrie man was transported to a local hospital then airlifted to a Toronto area trama centre where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the male suspect and the victim are known to each other and they believe this is an isolated incident.
"Police have also obtained video surveillance from Gunn Street and the surrounding area and believe that this, along with information received from witnesses assisted in police being able to quickly identify the suspect," according to a news release from Barrie police. "Further details will be provided as the investigation permits."
