Six people, including four children, injured in crash in Oro-Medonte

A head-on crash on Horseshoe Valley Road at Line 6 in Oro-Medonte Township left six people injured, including three children.

OPP say they responded to the collision between a van and an SUV around 8 p.m. on Friday.

The occupants of the SUV, a driver and two children, were taken to a local hospital. The driver and one child were later transferred to a regional trauma centre with serious injuries. The other child sustained minor injuries, police said.

The driver of the van was also taken to a regional trauma centre with serious injuries. Two children who were also in the van sustained minor injuries.

In a post to social media, Oro-Medonte Fire Chief Roree Payment said three people were extricated from the wreckage by firefighters.
