A multi-jurisdictional effort from the OPP has led to Wednesday's arrest of two Wasaga Beach residents, who are facing multiple charges relating to sexual offences.
Police say officers from the Major Crime Units of the Dufferin and Huronia West detachments, as well as Dufferin's Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed search warrants, one each in Orangeville and Wasaga Beach.
As a result, a 30-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from Wasaga Beach, are facing multiple charges. The male suspect was held for bail.
Additionally, three firearms, ammunition, electronic devices, and other items were seized as part of the investigation.
The man is facing a total of 14 charges, many of them regarding sexual misconduct and assault. Two of the 14 reference sexual assault and sexual touching of someone under the age of 16, while another has to do with child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Meanwhile, the woman is facing seven similar charges, including one regarding the sexual touching of someone under 16. She is scheduled to appear in court in Orangeville on February 10.
