Innisfil firefighters battled a blaze at a mobile home in Gilford.
Fire Chief Brent Thomas told Barrie 360 that crews were called out at 4:46 Sunday afternoon to 1229 Shore Acres Drive, where the fire was in a secondary dwelling unit on the property. While the blaze appears to be accidental, Thomas added it has not been investigated yet.

As of this writing, there were still elements of the fire that were not out, according to Thomas, and the nearly two dozen firefighters on scene were being challenged by ice buildup.
The lone occupant was alerted about the fire by smoke alarms, and was able to safely exit the structure with his pet, but the individual will be displaced.
